Coffee beans

Coffee, a cultural cornerstone, has left an indelible mark on societies worldwide. Not just a beloved beverage, it stands as a crucial export for 12 countries, claiming the seventh spot in global agricultural exports by value in 2005. Originating from the thriving trade routes connecting Venice, North Africa, Egypt, India, and the Middle East, coffee found its way to Europe, with the first European coffee house opening in Italy in 1645.

Fueling its global popularity, the British East India Company played a significant role in introducing coffee to England. The brew’s journey continued, reaching France in 1657, and later, Austria and Poland after 1683. Join us on a caffeinated journey through history and the widespread influence of coffee.

Cashew Kernal

The Cashew tree, native to northern South America, has now spread across tropical regions. Its English name, “cashew,” originates from the Portuguese ‘caju,’ derived from the Tupi-Indian word ‘acaju.’ Introduced to South-Eastern Asia after India, it reached Africa in the late 16th century, then Australia and parts of North America. Presently, it thrives between 31ºN and 31ºS latitudes, both in the wild and under cultivation.

In India, cashew is a major export crop, generating around Rs. 2500 crore in export earnings. Supporting over 1500 processing units, it sustains five lakh families in the industrial sector. Witness the global journey of this versatile and economically significant tree.

Natural Rubber & Latex

Natural rubber, an elastic hydrocarbon polymer found in the milky sap of certain plants, boasts a versatile nature and can be synthetically produced. The entropy model, crafted by Werner Kuhn in 1934, unravels the science behind rubber. Renowned as Hevea brasiliensis, the rubber tree serves as the primary source.

In 2005, a substantial 21 million tons of rubber were produced, with approximately 42% being natural. Today, Asia spearheads rubber production, contributing a staggering 94% to the global output in 2005. Notably, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and India, the top producers, collectively contribute to 72% of the world’s natural rubber production. Coir & Carpet

Derived from the protective husk of coconuts, coir stands as nature’s wonder fiber. Extracted and meticulously processed, the golden coir fiber transforms into a stunning array of textured yarns, weaving into vibrant floor coverings. After separating husks from coconuts, a traditional process involves retting in lagoons for up to ten months. Manual beating produces the coveted golden fiber, which is then spun into yarn using traditional spinning wheels called “Ratts.” The resulting coir yarn comes in numerous varieties, each tailored for industrial, agricultural, or domestic applications. From hardwearing door mats to crush-proof pile carpets, coir products enhance spaces with both elegance and functionality. Explore the myriad dimensions of coir, where economy, durability, and beauty converge seamlessly.
